<p>I&#8217;ve been doing photography for years, and have shot thousands of photos on digital in that time.  Lately, though, I&#8217;ve become enamored with film.  There&#8217;s an intangible quality to film that I don&#8217;t get from digital &#8211; perhaps it has something to do with it being a chemical reaction between light and the film, rather than what a digital sensor sees when the shutter&#8217;s open.</p>

<p>Whatever the explanation, I&#8217;ve picked up a couple of old 35mm film cameras (a <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pentax_K1000">Pentax K1000</a> SLR from the early &#8217;80s and an <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Olympus_Trip_35">Olympus Trip 35</a> from the early &#8217;70s), and have been getting into film.  A natural subject for this newfound fascination is vegan food.</p>

<p>Here are three photos I took recently with the K1000 &amp; some Kodak UltraMax film at <a href="http://spiraldiner.com">Spiral Diner</a> in the Near Southside.  That first photo shows the nachos, while the second and third are of the migas and some tasty-looking cookies, respectively.  Just figured y&#8217;all might enjoy them as well.</p>
