This is just a little tip for our fellow vegans who are looking to stay extra-healthy. At Junsuree Thai on Magnolia Avenue in the Near Southside, one of our favorite veg-friendly haunts, there’s a nice lunch special featuring one of several entrees (our favorite veg option is the Mixed Vegetable with Garlic Sauce with either tofu or wheat gluten), as well as veggie soup and veggie rolls. The veggie rolls are fried, though, so if you want a healthier option, they’ll substitute a big, very tasty veggie spring roll instead, as seen here. Awesome!

Who doesn’t love Thai food? Well, we certainly love it, and we’re fortunate enough to have a really great little indie mom & pop Thai place in Fort Worth’s Near Southside, on the consistently awesome Magnolia Avenue. I speak, of course, of Junsuree Thai House, located just east of Henderson on Magnolia.

Junsuree has been a Magnolia fixture for several years, and they offer up several vegan-friendly dishes. A few of our favorites are the Mixed Vegetable & Garlic (seen above in its lunch portion with brown rice and wheat gluten), the Garlic & Broccoli, and the Pad Peanut. In fact, quite a number of Junsuree’s entrees are vegan – they offer a choice of protein, and you can get either tofu or tasty wheat gluten.

Junsuree is owned and operated by Junsuree Hudson and Joe Mengkheo, who moved to Fort Worth from Bangkok, Thailand. They serve up tasty Thai dishes (including many ingredients grown themselves) with a very veg-friendly attitude. And being on Magnolia, they’re in an awesome part of town and are easy to get to – they’ve even got bike lanes and a bike rack right out front.

Junsuree is BYOB. Weekday lunch hours are from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM, Monday through Friday. Dinner hours are 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM Monday through Thursday, and 5:00 PM to 10:00 PM Friday and Saturday.
